It was only a few years ago, when Dutch designer Paul Mulder was caught by the beauty of birds. On a holiday in France, he was fascinated by seeing a little bird hunting and catching a prey. That bird would appear to be a Red-Backed Shrike.
Back home, paying more attention to birds, several bird species happened to live everywhere around his house. Paul got more and more enthusiastic.
Paul started challenging Albert Buring, his partner designer in Studio 212 Fahrenheit. How could they bring these different bird species back to the core? How little information is needed to distinguish a wide selection of "ordinary" bird species? The BLOCBIRDS project was born.
25 Bird species have been captured in these graphic compositions.
Do you recognize them all?
